Asiatic Society of Mumbai
One of the most influential libraries of Mumbai is the Asiatic Society of Mumbai which was developed by Sir James Mackintosh after a discussion by the members of the Literary Society of Bombay on 26th November, 1804. The library contains about 15, 000 unique artefacts comprising 3, 000 manuscripts in Prakrit, Persian and Sanskrit languages, a majority of which have been engraved over palm leaf. David Sassoon Library
The David Sassoon Library is one of the notable libraries which is an important heritage building in Mumbai. The idea of developing this library was conceptualised by Albert Sassoon who was the son of David Sassoon (a noted Baghdadi Jewish philanthropist). Its construction was finished in the year 1870 and it was termed as the David Sassoon Library and Reading Room.

Central Library, IIT Mumbai
The Central Library of IIT Mumbai and it aims to offer information to its readers in the form of digital as well as printed materials which are extremely useful to the faculty members, staff and also the students of IIT Mumbai. Currently the library possesses 450 printed periodicals, pamphlets, reports, thesis and dissertations, 231 DVDs, 1000 CDs, 12, 000 full text journals and much more.
