Lepromatous leprosy also known as multibacillary leprosy is the severe form of the disease. Lepromatous leprosy symptoms can include a symmetrical skin rash more commonly found in different parts in the body.
The parts can be mentioned as
•Face
•Ears
•Wrists
•Elbows
•Knees
•Buttocks.
This skin rash can be of different to look at. It can be
•Small or large
•Flat or raised
•Light or dark.
Other lepromatous leprosy symptoms can include as follows
•Thinning of eyebrows and eyelashes
•Thickened skin on face
•Nasal stuffiness
•Bloody nose
•Laryngitis
•Collapsing of the nose
•Swelling of the lymph nodes in the groin and armpits
•Scarring of the testes that leads to infertility
•Enlargement of male breasts (gynecomastia).
Medicines & Prescriptions:
1. Rasamanikya: Gandhaka Rasayana; Panchanimba Churna: 120 mg of Rasamanikya, 500 mg of Gandhaka. Rasayana, and 1 gm of Panchanimba Churna to be taken in the morning and evening.
2. Mahatiktaka Ghrita: Navakakashaya: 12 ml Mahatiktaka Ghrita and 58 ml
Navakakashaya to be taken twice daily after the first medicine.
3. Khadradirishta: 24 ml to be taken twice daily, after meals, with lukewarm water.
Diet and Other Regimen: Only easy-to-digest foods should be taken.
Injuries to any part of the body, particularly, the hands and feet, should be avoided.
