Latif Ur Rehman was born on January 1 in the year 1929. This Indian field hockey player has won the gold medal at the 1948 Summer Olympics for India.

In the summer Olympics at London in 1948, the Indian national hockey team played a total of 5 matches and was able to win all of them. The Indian team scored 25 goals though out the tournament. It was the first Olympics that the Indian team participated in after independence. On September 12, 1948, in the final match against Britain, India played excessively well and beat Britain by 4-0 goals. It was the Indian national hockey teams fourth consecutive gold medal win. The national team was greeted with highest respects and welcomed on a red carpet. The team members that participated were- captain Kishan Lal, Kunwar Digvijay Singh, Keshav Chandra Dutt, Randhir Singh Gentle, Amir Kumar, Jaswant Singh Rajput, Balbir Singh Sr, Reginald Rodrigues, Grahanandan Singh, Ranganathan Francis, Trilochan Singh, Akhtar Hussain, Leslie Claudius and Leo Pinto.

After the independence of India, he moved to Pakistan. At the 1956 Summer Olympics, he has participated for Pakistan and fetched the silver medal for Pakistan.
