Kuldiha Forest is located in Balasore district in the state of Odisha. Kuldiha Forest merged into Simlipal Reserve Forest and it is the home for elephants in Eastern Ghats Mountain Range in India.

The forests of Kuldiha Forest cover the Nato hills and the Sukhupata hills, by merging with the Similipal National Park. It is one of the major wildlife sanctuaries in Odisha, Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary and the forest is home to rare species of animals and plants.

Kuldiha Forest spans over an area of 272.75 square kilometres.

Flora and Fauna of Kuldiha Forest
The dense forest of Kuldiha host trees like piyasal, sal, sishu, jam, bahera, Mango and simul. It is also the home to a number of wild animals including elephant, wild cats, long tailed monkeys, cheetals, leopard, gaur, giant squirrels and many more.

Birds in Kuldiha Forest
Birds such as hill myna, peafowl, hornbill etc as well as a huge variety of reptiles which dwell in the perennial streams can also be spotted in the sanctuary. Several endangered and rare species of animals are also found wandering in the forest.

Natural Beauty in Kuldiha Forest
A hilly stream near Kuldiha Forest meanders beautifully through the forest. Along the bank of river a watch tower is situated. The forest also houses a Lion Sanctuary and a Tenda Elephant Sanctuary. Tourists can opt for a short trek through the forest from Nilgiris.

Tourism in Kuldiha Forest
Near Kuldiha Forest, a few more tourist attractions can be located namely Rishia Dam, also known as Russia Dam. The dam has a serene and secluded ambience and offers a magnificent view of groups of elephants who come here from Tenda Elephant Sanctuary for water. Panchlingeswar is also not far from the forest and is an attractive tourist spot. Through the Sukhupada hill ranges and Nato hill, the forest merges with Similipal Forest.

Visiting Information
Kuldiha Forest can be visited throughout the year except monsoon, as during this time the forest becomes inaccessible. However it is said that the wilderness of the forest can be enjoyed best during the summers. Rest houses are available for the accommodation of the tourists. Kuldiha Forest is immensely cherished by nature photographers. It is also a paradise for the tourists having the urge of exploring the enthralling beauty of nature.
