The village of Kodanand lies at a distance of 18 kms from Kotagiri. Mainly known for its scenic beauty, it is a small tourist spot which is often visited by the tourists. From this point, one can almost view the details of the geographical map of the region come to life.

Kodanad view point is located near Kotagiri town of Nilgiri district in the Tamil Nadu state of India. The point is situated about 18 km east of Kotagiri on the eastern edges of Nilgiris.

Attractions of Kodanad View Point
Commonly known as Kodanand view point, it takes the shape of a valley which is situated at the sharp decline from the altitude that reaches to the plain and then rises again until it levels on to the Mysore plateau. Kodanad View Point, Kotagiri, Tamil NaduThis has been one of the major attractions of the area which shares the panoramic view of the entire eastern slope of the Nilgiri Hills, the huge tea estate and the river of Moyar. The point also offers mesmerising view of Thengumarahada village, Kil-Kotagiri region peaks, Rangasamy Peak and Pillar and many more. During the monsoon, some of the views are often concealed due to the monsoon clouds towering up into the sky.

Attractive Places near Kodanad View Point
There are some other attractions near Kodanad view point which include Catherine Falls and Elk Falls. They take just around one minute to reach from Kodanad view point.

Catherine Falls: It`s a double-cascaded waterfall located near Kotagiri. The upper fall drops to the floor which is considered the second highest in the Nilgiri mountains. The native name of the Catherine Falls is Geddhehaada Halla meaning "Foothills Dale River".

Elk Falls: Known for its scenic beauty, EIk falls is one of the famous places located in Kotagiri district of Tamil Nadu. It is surrounded with well maintained British cottages which add more beauty to the falls. The water fall remains full of water during the rainy season and it passes through some of the steep gorges and lands up into the picturesque valley.
