Kishan Lal , Indian Hockey PlayerKishan Lal was born on 2nd February 1917. This famous Indian field hockey player is reckoned as fastest player in wing position. He would race down to goal line, once the ball is served to him in the field. Under his captaincy the Indian National Team participated in the 1948 Olympics as an independent country.

In the Olympics the Indian National Team won its first gold, defeating Great Britain in the final: 4-0. The 91-year-old Gian Singh said, "Manytimes I would think he would score, but invariably he would pass the ball to inside-forwards or centre forward to do the finishing touch". Kishan Lal died on June 23, 1980.
