Mythological History of Kethaki Sangameshwara Swamy Devasthanam
In Kethaki Sangameshwara Swamy Devasthanam, there is a Shiva Lingam, which is said to have been established by Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma is the Hindu God of creation and one of the Trimurti, the others being Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva or Mahadeva. According to the Brahma Purana, he is the father of Manu, and from Manu all human beings are descended. In the Ramayana and the Mahabharata, Lord Brahma is often referred to as the progenitor or great grandsire of all human beings. It is also said that Lord Brahma after creating the world came to the spot, where Kethaki Sangameshwara Swamy Devasthanam is located for meditation. Since the existing "Bhanakara Lingam" has been installed by Lord Brahma, several pujas and offerings are being performed with Kethaki flowers. There is also a fresh water lake, which is locally called "Pushkarini", consisting of eight theerthas like Narayana, Dharna, Rushi, Varuna, Soma, Rudra, Indira and Datha. Here the Lord is called as "Kethaki Sangameshwara".
