Kerala Science and Technology Museum, Kerala, Indian MuseumsKerala Science and Technology Museum is a self-governing institution established by Government of Kerala. It was launched in 1984 as a centre for popularisation of science in the middle of common public, in particular among the young generation. The institute is located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city, in Kerala. There is also a planetarium, called "Priyadarsini Planetarium", added to the Museum carrying out since 1994.

Aims and Objectives of Kerala Science and Technology Museum
Kerala Science and Technology Museum is very popular among School, College and University students and common public. It also arranges science and technology knowledge classes on a usual basis for students. Following are the aims and objectives of Kerala Science and Technology Museum:


•To stand as an efficient means of communication for spreading the scientific literacy amongst the society. It emphases in taking science and technology to the common people.


•To represent the growth of science and technology throughout the ages.


•To provide as a Visual medium for highlighting the natural resources and industrial potentials, development in industrialization.


•To supply prospect to the youth for giving actual form to their scientific and original thoughts by using the facilities in the Museum, and to inspire a scientific temper in them.

Amenities of Kerala Science and Technology Museum
The Museum has 10 galleries displaying more than 300 items. Each gallery holds items connected to a particular disciple of science or engineering. There are galleries for electrical, electronics, mechanical, automobile and bio-medical engineering. There is a unique gallery for popular science, and also for solar energy. Mathematics, computer science and space science are the other disciplines having galleries of their individual.

Kerala Science and Technology Museum also has Science Park, a Mobile Science Exhibition Unit, a Play Park with Educational playing devices, Energy Park, 3D theatre, Edusat Talk Back, Terminal, Energy ball, Motion simulator with 6 degrees of freedom and Laserium and Water fountain etc. A well equipped library is a central attraction of this museum.

The administration of Kerala Science and Technology Museum is vested with a Governing Body with Minister for Education, Kerala. The Director of the Museum is liable for conducting the day-to-day affairs of the museum.

Kerala Science and Technology Museum can be visited in between Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm
