The devotees present their offerings to the Peer. The tenth and the last day of the festival witness the anointment of the tomb of the saint Quadirwali with sandalwood paste. The paste is distributed among the followers. It is considered that the paste has magical healing power.

This holy sandal paste is believed to possess special powers and acts as a remedy for illness. Kanthuri Festival is renowned at Nagore durgah near Nagapattinam.
