Kanta is the adopted daughter of Lomapada, King of Anga. She was also popularly known as Shanta. According to Indian mythology Kanta was actually the daughter of Dasaratha, King of Ayodhya.
Kanta was very beautiful and was married to Rishyasringa, the Sage and the son of Rishi Vibhandaka.
