Kanishtha Dhankar is an Indian supermodel who came into spotlight after winning the title of "Pantaloons Miss India in 2011". She also won the title of "Femina Miss Ramp Model" and was judged "Femina Miss beautiful legs". Later, she represented India in Miss World 2011 which was held in London, United Kingdom where she was in top 30. According to various fashion magazines, she is the next big thing in the Indian fashion industry.
Early Life and Education of Kanishtha Dhankar
Kanishtha Dhankar was born on 21 September 1988 in Mumbai. Her father Raj Singh Dhankhar is a Commodore in the Indian Navy, and her mother Kusum Dhankhar is a school teacher. She is second of their three children. Kanishtha was raised in Colaba, Mumbai. Her family is from Kasni village in Jhajjar district, Haryana. She pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai.
Career of Kanishtha Dhankar
Her tryst with modelling started when she was in her last year at university. Owing to her impressive height and sharp features, she was scouted by various modelling agents during her university days. Her work made her travel the world. She shifted to New York for a few months where she walked the runway at the Mercedes Benz fashion week spring summer 2013.
She is a known face on ramp and has walked for Lakme Fashion week, Wills India fashion week, Couture week to name a few. She has appeared on the cover of elite magazines like Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Harpers Bazaar, Grazia, and Cosmopolitan. Her latest works include the Sabyasachi campaign, Hemant & Leconet campaign, being the first face at the Wills India fashion week.
Kanishtha also tried her luck in Bollywood. In 2008, she appeared in Priyanka Chopra and Kangna Ranaut starrer film `Fashion` which was directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
