Kalb Ali Khan or Hajji Nawab Kalb Ali Khan Bahadur was one of the most well known Nawabs of the princely state of Rampur. He succeeded Nawab Yusef Ali Khan.

Kalb Ali Khan, Nawab of RampurKalb Ali Khan, also known as Hajji Nawab Kalb Ali Khan Bahadur, was a renowned was a Nawab of the princely state of Rampur, which is currently in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. He was born in the year 1834 and ruled over the territory from the year 1865 to 1887. He succeeded Nawab Yusef Ali Khan and ascended to the throne of Rampur after the death of his father in the year 1865. Nawab Kalb Ali Khan continued the reformative works of his father and developed the Rampur library. Moreover he constructed the Jama Masjid and encouraged the propagation of education, literature, art and architecture in general.

Sir Kalb Ali Khan was a highly competent and skilled ruler and was well educated in Persian and Arabic. He patronised scholars from all over the country and the Islamic world. He was made a member of John Lawrence`s council from the year 1878 and remained as a member till his death in 1887. Kalb Ali attended the Delhi Durbar of Queen Victoria and was honoured with a personal salute of 17 guns. He died on 21st April 1865 at the age of 53. He was succeeded by Muhammad Mushtaq Ali Khan Bahadur, who was his son.
