Kalanjara is described as a colossal mountain in the Puranas. It is found in the north of Meru. Mount Kalanjara lies east of the Indus Valley floodplain. Kalanjara Mountain is considered as a sacred place. There is a celestial lake in the vicinity of the mountain. It is said that one who offers oblations on the Kalanjara Mountain after a bath in the lake is regarded in heaven.
