Jude Menezes, Indian Hockey PlayerJude Menezes was born on 5th August1971 in Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra. He made his international debut as the field hockey player in the year 1992 against South Korea. This former field hockey goalkeeper hails from India, Jude Menezes made his international debut in the year 1992 for the Men`s National Team against South Korea. At the 2000 Summer Olympics held at Sydney, Australia, Menezes delineated his native country in the tournament. In the tournament India finished at the seventh place. He plays at the position of goal keeping. He has done Bachelor of Arts (History/Psychology) from St. Andrews College, Mumbai. His brother Peter Menezes is a hockey umpire. Surfing the Net, Music, Reading are the hobbies of Jude Menezes.

He played the tournaments in the national levels are: Senior Nationals -- Mar 1999 - Hyderabad, May 1997 - Bengaluru (4th); National Games -- Jun 1997 - Bengaluru (2nd); Muruguppa Gold Cup -- July 1998 - Chennai (2nd). At the international front he has played: 130 matches.

After the 2002 Men`s Hockey World Cup held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, India`s hockey goalkeeper Jude Menezes migrated to New Zealand. After five years of feverish international career, Jude Menezes declared his retirement climaxing with the World Cup at Kuala Lumpur. In this champions Challenge for the year 2001 held in Kuala Lumpur India won the Gold medal.
