Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute, Thrissur, KeralaThe Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute (JMMCRI) is counted among the most notable and popular medical institutions in the state of Kerala. Situated in the district of Thrissur, the institution started its journey on 17th December, 1951. The institute is running and managing a large number of medical organisations with a view to impart quality medical education to the students of Kerala. The institute started its journey as a private hospital and it was the first and the only private hospital in Thrissur during the period of its inception. The self financing medical college is affiliated to the University of Calicut.

The Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute (JMMCRI), Thrissur started the School of Nursing in the year 1966 with a view to impart nursing education to the students of Kerala. The Indian Medical Council (IMC) recognised the hospital for Internship Training of Doctors (CRRI) in the year 1971. By the course of time, the JMH has become synonymous for Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery, treatment of Snake-bite and Burns. It has opened up new horizons of health care to the common people from different parts of Thichur, Palakkad and Malappuram, as well. The Jubilee Mission Hospital got recognition as a teaching hospital from the Medical Council of India (MCI) in 2003 and it opened the Medical College and College of Nursing in the same year, as well.

The vision of the Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute (JMMCRI), Thrissur is to provide `Service with Love`. The living spirit of Jubilee Mission is to provide treatment with a preferential option for the poor. The Jubilee Mission envisages providing quality treatment to all people, irrespective of religion, caste or community, especially the indigent, the underprivileged and the marginalised. The institute is working with certain missions like ensuring promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative health care to all people, especially to the poor and the disadvantaged, irrespective of cast and creed. It is working to make available the best quality health care as well as medical education at affordable means. Apart from that, the institute is trying to uphold and promote the ethical values and principles of morality, as interpreted by the Catholic Church, especially the value of `human life` and `human dignity` in the field of health care, medical education and research, as well.

The institutions that the Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute (JMMCRI), Thrissur operates include the Jubilee Mission Medical College Hospital (JMMCH), the Jubilee Mission Medical College (JMMC), the Jubilee Mission College of Nursing (JMCON), the Jubilee Mission School of Nursing (JMSON) and the Jubilee Mission College of Allied Health Sciences (JMCAHS). The institution is being administered by a charitable organisation named the Jubilee Mission Hospital Trust, under the Archdiocese of Trichur, at the moment.

The Jubilee Mission Medical College & Research Institute (JMMCRI), Thrissur offers a large number of courses in various institutions that are operating under its umbrella. The courses are offered in different fields of medical science and they include DNB, MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, GNM, B.SC MLT, B.SC MIT, DMLT, DMRT, DOTC, and ATTC. The first batch of students started their classes in the institute on 22nd September 2003 and the institute admits a total of 100 students, every year. The institute has the major super speciality departments like Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Endocrinology, Gastro Surgery, etc. All the departments are working relentlessly to help the institute imparting medical education in a better way.
