Joginder Sharma, Haryana Cricket PlayerJoginder Sharma is an aggressive right handed batsman and right arm medium fast bowler.Being an all rounder he is often compared to Kapil Dev though Joginder himself admits `Kapil is impossible to replace`. Joginder Sharma was born on October 23 1983 in Haryana.

Cricket Life of Joginder Sharma
In 2002-2003 Joginder Sharma made his debut in domestic cricket against Madhya Pradesh in Ranji Trophy. He picked up 11 wickets in 84 runs and scored 81 runs to lead his state 103 victory. He also did brilliant performance in limited over of the first-class cricket which he began in earlier season.

In Duleep Trophy, Joginder Sharma took 6 wickets which helped North Zone to get victory against West Zone. He dismissed Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Yuvraj Singh in a match against national team. He was selected in the national team for scoring two wonderful centuries and taking 14 wickets in Ranji Trophy in 2004-2005. He has played in overall 59 First Class matches and 64 `List-A` matches.

In ODI series against Bangladesh Joginder Sharma`s performance was not impressive. He was dismissed from national team. Again he came back to play domestic cricket and took 36 wickets and secured 472 runs at an average of 52 in Ranji Trophy in 2005-06. He also bowled well in Duleep Trophy in this season. In the following season Sharma took 39 wickets in seven matches with two ten wickets in an innings and a hattrik. He was immediately recalled to the Indian team for West Indies in place of Irfan Pathan. Again he was dropped for poor performances. He has played in overall 4 One Day International matches.

After a year, Sharma was given chance in the 2007 Twenty 20 World Cup in South Africa. He will be in the memory of the cricket lovers for his last over bowling against Pakistan in the final, leading India to win by 5 runs. For this contribution he was awarded 21 lakhs by Haryana Government. He has played in overall 44 Twenty20 matches.

Joginder Sharma has been referred to as Mahendra Singh Dhoni`s `Last over specialist` bowling the last over of a fair few matches under Dhoni`s captaincy, both for India and the Chennai Super Kings, in Indian Premier League.
