It is published and distributed in India by Virgin Comics, which is known as Liquid Comics after a management buy out. This one-shot comic was published in collaboration with UTV Spotboy. Jimmy Zhingchak is portrayed as a superhero who dances to the tunes of disco music. The concept and the characters bear many similarities to the theme of the Bollywood films that were made during the 1980s. The male protagonist of the comic book Jimmy Zhingchak - Agent of D.I.S.C.O. is loosely based on the Hindi film actor Mithun Chakraborty, who has also written the foreword in the comics. Jimmy Zhingchak kills the bad guys with his advanced disco moves and the plot also contains many jokes related with the Hindi film industry, popularly called Bollywood.

Content of Jimmy Zhingchak
The comic book titled Jimmy Zhingchak - Agent of D.I.S.C.O. can be considered as a satire and parody on the Hindi films of the 1980s that mainly dealt with the subject matter of disco and dance. Jimmy Grover is a young dancer who rises up to the occasion in order to protect the country and to defend the civilians from the several attacks of Sir John and his evil organization named F.I.R.A.N.G. In the course of the story, Jimmy becomes a part of D.I.S.C.O. (Department of Internal Security and Covert Operation) and is helped and trained by Colonel Jaani who is one of the leading agents of D.I.S.C.O.

The Indian comics of Jimmy Zhingchak - Agent of D.I.S.C.O. introduces the concept of Zhingchak that refers to a mysterious power, reminiscent of The Force from the popular Hollywood movie Star Wars. The concept of the comic book uses various plot devices from Bollywood movies such as a blind mother, long lost twin brothers and restoration of mother`s eye sight miraculously through divine intervention. Young Jimmy Grover also has visions of a mysterious apparition of a fat man adorned with gold necklaces. The character is clearly inspired from Indian music director Bappi Lahiri. Jimmy Zhingchak fights the evil henchmen of Sir John and saves the country.
