Jayas are the group of twelve gods found at beginning of Kalpa. Kalpa is the long period of time in Hindu Cosmology.
Lord Brahma created the Jayas as his representatives and assistants in the creation. Jayas created offence by being lost in meditation and neglected his commands. Brahma became very angry and sentenced them to be repeatedly born in each Manwantara till the seventh. They were born in the several successive Manvantaras as Ajitas, Treshitas, Satyas, Haris, Vaikunthas, Sadyas, and Adityas.
