Jaswant Thada is located in the left side of the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It is a royal cenotaph that was built in the memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II in the 19th century by the king`s son, Maharaja Sardar Singh. The "Chhatris" (cenotaph) were generally built for the Rajput kings and heroes in the memory of their bravery and to show respect to the dead ones. Apart from this main chhatri, there are other two tombs located within it. Jaswant Thada displays the portraits of the rulers of Jodhpur. It has been built in the shape of a temple. This place also served as a royal crematorium.

Besides the historical significance, it is a fine instance of architectural brilliance. The entire cenotaph is built in pristine white marble. The main attraction here is the `jali` windows. The fine art work will look like lace work from a distance. Such intricate work is worth checking out.
