Jambumali is the son of Prahasta, the commander-in-Chief of the Rakshasas. He was a demon with great tusks. Ravana sent Jambumali to fight against Hanuman with orders not to return until he had slain the blood-thirsty monkey. But, Hanuman took up a large tree and hurled it at the head of Jambumali. Then, Hanuman took up a pillar and threw it at Jambumali dashing him and his chariot to pieces.

The big bow of Jambumali looked like a rainbow garnished splendorous arrows and which brilliance was similar to that of a lightening and produced a sound like that of a thunder.
