The Census India 2011 reports that Jaffrabad has a total population of 54,601 with an average density of 60,668 inhabitants per square kilometre. The population has decreased from the population of 57,450, reported by the 2001 Census. The annual population decline from 2001 to 2011 has been calculated at approximately 0.51 per cent. The male-female sex ratio is roughly 1.09, with 28,529 males and 26,072 females.

The population of children between 0-6 years of age is 7,179, with a proportion of 13.15 per cent of total population. The Female Sex Ratio (as per 1000 males) of the town is approximately 914, compared to the average of 868 of the union territory. The Child Sex Ratio (population of girl child for every 1000 male children, between 0-6 years) is around 937, compared to union territory average of 871.

The town has an average literacy rate of 74.3 per cent, lower than the average of 86.21 per cent of the whole capital territory. The male literacy rate is around 77.55 per cent and the female literacy rate stands at 70.76 per cent.
