Description of Jacaranda Tree
Jacaranda tree is a nice and striking tree that can grow up to 18 metres at the highest. The tree contains large leaves that are separated into tiny sections and as a whole, it has the shape of a nicely cut branch. The tree normally flowers for a very short period starting from the month of March to May. But some exceptional trees do flower even out of the season. From beginning to end, every tree is wrapped in blue. The season gets extended there as one tree begins flowering as soon as its neighbour has finished. The fresh green stems of the tree grow from the old wood and expire as large and loose clusters with flowers of deep blue-mauve in colour. Sometimes the number of flowers counts near about ninety in one splendid spray. The flowers are about 5 cm long and twisted and have the shape of a Foxglove flower. The flowers divide into five unequal lobes. Amongst them, two are curvy in the up and dirty white in colour and the other three are large and straight. The fruits are round and flat capsule of about 5 cm across and also bear numerous seeds.

When the `Jacaranda` blooms, the Pink Cassias also flowers to make a wonderful combination of colour by keeping its colour along with that of `Jacaranda`. However, in India, this tree doesn`t have too much of medicinal value. `J. Filicifolia` is another specie of `Jacaranda` that is also found all over India. Here, the leaflets are larger and the flowers are smaller than that of `Jacaranda`. `Filicifolia` means a tree that has leaves like a fern. The wood of this tree contains a very pleasant scent. The carpenters consider it as easy to work and for that they can give a handsome finish very easily. Interestingly, Jacaranda is often grown in pots.
