Isana is one of the eight Rudras of the Vishnu Purana whose statue was the air. Isana is the embodiment of air, the purifier, the regent of the northeastern direction. The consort of this divine Isana, creator of the worlds, whose nature is wind, is said to be an auspicious goddess.
