Inbuan, Traditional Indian SportInbuan is an age-old game played in Mizoram. The game bears a striking resemblance to combat wrestling. A circle of 15 feet diameter is drawn either or on a carpet or grass. As in combat wresting, the objective of the players is to lift the opponent off the ground by making use of their power, skillfulness and very importantly swift movement of their arms and legs. While the legs can be used to good effect in the game, as per the rules, players are not allowed to kick their opponent.

There are three rounds, one round last for half-a-minute to one minute. If one of the players manages to lift the opponent off the ground before this, the round ends there itself. Other rules of the game include prohibition from moving out of the circle (the playing field). Also bending of knees is not allowed. Both players are given a belt, which is tied around the waist. It has to be ensured that the belt does not get lose at any point of time during play. History says that Inbuan was invented in a village called Dungtland back in 1750 A.D. and became very popular after Mizos migrated from Burma to Lushai hills.
