Imran Khan Pal came into the limelight with his `chocolate boy` looks and brilliant acting in the recent Aamir Khan production `Jane Tu Ya Jane Na`. He is more popular as Imran Khan and was born on 13 January 1983 in Wisconsin, USA. He is an American-born Bollywood film star and has Bengali descent on his paternal side.
Imran Khan`s Early Years
Imran`s father Anil Pal works as a senior manager at Yahoo in Silicon Valley. He had been the classmate of director Mansoor Khan, Nuzhat`s brother, at IIT Bombay (Mumbai) Nuzhat Khan is the sister of Aamir Khan and mother of Imran. Anil and Nuzhat married but got divorced when Imran was only one and half years old. He grew up with the surname Khan because his mother brought him up in India under her single patronage. However, before joining the film industry he lived with his father to complete the high school education in California and then trained in film making in New York. He is the grandson of Nasir Hussain who was a noted director and producer. While living in India, he took his education at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim in Mumbai. Imran also joined Kishore Namit Kapoor`s Acting Institute in Mumbai.
Imram Khan`s Film Career
Imran appeared as a child artist in his uncle Aamir`s films Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992). Both the times he played the role of a young Aamir Khan. Imran is said to have a close resemblance of `young` Aamir Khan and thus raised the nostalgia among the fans of Aamir in his debut film. Imran aspired to be a director, before entering Bollywood as an actor. His debut as a lead actor in the 2008 film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was a blockbuster hit and he starred opposite Genelia D`Souza. The film was directed by Abbas Tyrewala and produced by his uncles Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan. The film highlighted his acting skills and made him an instant hit among his fans. He was further nominated as the Best Male Debut in the 54th Filmfare Awards and won it along with Farhan Aktar. In his next movie "Kidnap" with Sanjay Dutt and Minissha Lamba, his character portrays just the opposite as in his first film. Here he plays his first role as a villain and ruthless kidnapper. The film failed at the box office but Imran got an IIFA award nomination. He also paired with Kamal Hasan`s daughter Shruti Hasan in his next movie luck. In 2010, Imran starred in Punit Malhotra`s I Hate Luv Storys opposite Sonam Kapoor and in Danish Aslam`s Break Ke Baad.
Imran Khan`s Personal Life
Khan became engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Avantika Malik, on 16 January 2010 in the farm house of Avantika`s family in Karjat near Navi Mumbai. On January 10, 2011, the couple married at a private social ceremony at Aamir Khan`s residence at Pali Hill.
