The other dynasties during the period of Bahmani dynasty or the contemporary dynasties of the Bahmani Dynasty were the Imad Shahi Dynasty of Berar, The Barid Dynasty of Bidar, The Nizam Shahi Dynasty of Ahmadnagar, The Adil Shahi Dynasty of Bijapur and the Qutab Shahi Dynasty of Golkonda. The Bahmani dynasty lasted for two centuries. During the reign of Mahmud Shah from 1482 to 1518 the provincial governors declared themselves as independent and set up five separate kingdoms.
The historical saga of other dynasties during the period of Bahmani Dynasty unfolds the fact that the Imad Shahi Dynasty of Berar consisted of the northern part of the Bahamani Kingdom. Dynasty lasted for four generations. In 1490 the founding father of Imad Shahi dynasty Imad-ul-Mulk declared his independence. He was the governor of Gawil. He conquered Mahur to annex to his newly made kingdom. Ellichpur was the capital. In 1504 after Imad Shah Aladdin Imad Shah ascended the throne till1529 and from then to1562 he was on the throne. Later Darya Imad Shah succeeded him. Until 1568 Burhan Imad Shah was the ruler. Tuful Khan deposed Burhan Imad Shah and crowned as the king.
