Hubli AirportThe Hubli Airport caters to the twin cities of Hubli-Dharwad. Only Air Deccan (Bangalore, Mumbai) and Kingfisher Airlines (Bangalore, Mumbai) touchdown by the Hubli Airport. The airport authority recently received `night flight certification` from DGA. Presently construction for night flights are being implemented on the runway. They also have a plan to expand the current airport into an all-weather one. A proposal worth Rs.195-crore have been submitted for the purpose of land acquisition for the airport. It is projected to acquire 650 acres (2.6 km²) of surrounding land-- 530 acres (2.1 km²) of 650 acres (2.6 km2) is agricultural land.
