Hot Springs in Odisha are namely Atri, Tarabalo, Deulajharia and Taptapani springs, located near the capital city of Bhubaneshwar, are believed to contain medicinal properties. Odisha is one of the major tourism sectors of Eastern India, with various tourists` attractions, ranging from wildlife reserves, beaches, temples, monuments and the hot springs and the arts and festivals. Not only that these hot water springs are known now as the major pilgrimage tourism destination in Eastern Ghats Mountain Range in India. The significance of the hot springs is the manifold, besides its touristy and curative powers; these springs also occupy a position of religious and devotional importance in the state of Odisha.

Atri Hot Spring, Khurda District
The sulphur spring of Atri, located in a village in the Khordha District and almost 42 km from Bhubaneshwar, the capital of the state, is perhaps the most popular Hot Spring in Odisha. It is situated in the middle point of paddy fields and the discrete odour of sulphur is spread around the entire surrounding area. The temperature of Atri remains at a constant 55 degree centigrade. The water of Atri spring is usually stored in a man-made lake for the use of the locals. The reservoir is around 10 feet in circumference and 15 feet in depth and supplies adequate water to the people. The clear water of the sulphur spring is believed to contain healing and curative abilities.

Tarabalo Hot Spring, Nayagarh District
Tarabalo hot water spring is situated in Nayagarh district, Odisha and covers an area of 8 acres. Tarabalo, one of the popular hot springs in Odisha, lies at a distance of 75 km from Bhubaneshwar.

Deulajhari Hot Spring , Angul District
Deulajhari hot spring is present in the Angul district of Odisha and is nestled amidst lush forests. It is located near Athamalik and maintains high temperature and covers a vast area. As the Deulajhari sulphur spring instigates from below a Shivalinga, it is religiously very important. The steaming water from Deulajhari is stored into 36 artificial ponds that limit a Shiva Temple. Almost half of the springs in the area are cold, which are connected to the hot sulphur springs; and this phenomenon is believed to be a natural miracle. The entire region is surrounded with indigenous jasmine forest. Earlier, there used to be 84 hot springs in the region, but now only 24 springs exist. The water temperature fluctuates from 40 degree Celsius up to 62 degree Celsius.

Taptapani Hot Spring, Behrampur City
Taptapani hot spring is another popular hot water spring in Odisha. The name is derived from the word Tapta, meaning hot or burning and Pani, meaning water. The sulphur spring is located 56 km from Berhampur and 67 km from Gopalpur. The hot spring of Taptapani is placed atop a hill amidst lush and dense forests. The temperature ranges from 90 to 100 degree Fahrenheit and the boiling water bubbles in 2 particular places. The water of Taptapani is reserved in a pond, situated nearby, which has access to public use. Taptapani spring is supposed to contains curative and medicinal properties which cure diseases related to skin and the body. There is also a temple in the vicinity. October to June is the best time to visit the spring.
