Hosdurg Fort is located in Kanhangad in the district of Kasargod. The structure was constructed by Somashekara Nayaka of the Keladi Nayaka dynasty.

Hosdurg Fort, Deccan FortsHosdurg Fort is one of the most well known forts in the Indian state of Kerala. It is located in Kanhangad in the district of Kasargod. The geographical coordinates of Hosdurg Fort are latitude 12°18`33?N and longitude 75°05`38?E. The structure was constructed by Somashekara Nayaka, who belonged to the Keladi Nayaka dynasty of Ikkeri.

The fort of Hosdurg was used as a stronghold and had round ramparts and fortifications. The Nithyanandasram, a world famous spiritual centre, is located around 4 km away from the site and has around 45 caves.

Hosdurg Fort lies in a ruined state at present. It is now open to all tourists and visitors and is under the possession of the Government of India.
