Honey Singh, also known as Hirdesh Singh or Yo Yo Honey Singh, is a popular singer, music producer, Indian rapper and film actor. His unique style of music has earned him a distinct niche in the entertainment industry, raising him to the fame of a youth icon. He began his career as a recording session artist but soon advanced to become a Bhangra producer. His songs have marked tremendous popularity and usually derive inspiration from the tales of common men. Presently he has also embraced the role of music producer for Bollywood. Early Life of Honey Singh
Honey Singh was born on 15th March 1984 in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, with the name Hirdesh Singh. He did his schooling from Guru Nanak Public School in New Delhi. He spent his childhood in Karampura, Delhi. He received his formal music training from the prestigious Trinity School in UK.
Career of Honey Singh
Honey Singh marked his first step in the music industry in the year 2006, while he was studying at the Trinity School. He launched his first song in the same year which became popular as `Glassy`. The song became incredibly popular earning him the esteemed ETC Punjabi Award for Best Sound Design. He made his Bollywood debut by singing for the Bollywood movie Shakal Pe Mat Ja in 2011. His song `Angreji Beat` from his album International Villager was featured in the Bollywood film Cocktail in the year 2012. Subsequently he premiered his single track `Satan` through MTV which was followed by huge popularity. The channel then decided to launch his second single track at Video Music Awards India. The award show gathered film fraternities from all around the world where Honey Singh bestowed a heart winning performance of his song. Afterwards he bagged a number of Bollywood projects as a music composer and singer including the movies Boss, Chennai Express, Bajatey Raho and Mere Dad Ki Maruti. He has also won a number of awards for his catchy melodies.
In the year 2012, Honey Singh made his cinematic debut as an actor with the Punjabi movie Mirza in which he portrayed the role of a wannabe gangster. He has also starred in the Punjabi comedy flick Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22.
