Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association is the administrative body of the cricket related activities in the state of Himachal Pradesh and the Himachal Pradesh cricket team. It is affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India or BCCI. This cricket association along with the apex cricket board of the country conducts various matches of domestic and international levels.
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association looks to promote, support and develop cricket by conducting various League Tournaments, Tournaments for the age group Under-13, Under-15, Under-17, and Under-19, Under-22 and Under-25 categories besides organizing and conducting National Tournaments
The Himachal Pradesh cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. In the 2006/07 season Himachal Pradesh won the Plate Group of the Ranji Trophy beating Orissa in the final after finishing top of their group.
History of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association was formed with the objective of growth of Cricket in the state in the year 1960. The Association was granted affiliation by the BCCI at a meeting held on 29th Sept 1984 at Taj Palace, New Delhi. Till the year 2000 the Association was considered to be minnows of Indian Cricket. However later on it developed in such a manner that it caught the eyes of many. HPCA has its own stadium having best of facilities.
