Hill Miri Tribe is located in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. They belong to the Mongoloid racial stock inhabiting Lower and Upper Subansiri Districts of Arunachal Pradesh. This tribe is famously known as the Abotani tribe. This tribal group is considered to be one of the major tribes of Arunachal Pradesh.

Occupation of Hill Miri Tribe
Agriculture is the main occupation of Hill Miri tribe. More specifically, they practice jhum or shifting cultivation which is their source of income. Their natural surrounding is useful to them in terms of deriving their minimum daily requirements. They are known to live in perfect harmony with nature.

Language of Hill Miri Tribe
Hill Miri or Sarak speaks in Tani language of India. This language is spoken by an estimated 9,000 people of the Hill Miri tribe. It appears to be a dialect of the Nishi language and is spoken in Arunachal Pradesh.
