Hill Fort of Kesroli, Alwar, RajasthanThe Hill Fort of Kesroli is a 14th century fort located in the city of Alwar in Rajasthan, India. Standing atop the rare dark Hornstone Breccia rocks, it is today a heritage hotel owned and operated by Neemrana Hotels group. It is known for its turrets, arched verandahs and ramparts rising up to 50 to 65 metres (150 to 200 feet) that offer splendid agrarian views.

History of Hill Fort of Kesroli
The origin of the seven-turreted Hill Fort of Kesroli is traced back to over six centuries, said to have been built by the Yaduvanshi Rajputs, who are believed to be descendants of Lord Krishna. They were later named Khanzadas after having converted to Islam in the mid 14th century. Through the centuries, the fort has changed hands many times, having been conquered by the Mughals and thereafter the Jats, before finally reverting into the hands of the Rajputs in 1775, at the time when the princely state of Alwar was founded. The fort witnessed its golden period under Ranawat Thakur Bhawani Singh (1882-1934).

In the year 2004, the fort was given on lease to heritage company Neemrana Hotels, by Wing Commander Mangal Singh, to be converted into a modern day heritage hotel. It was subsequently restored by the co-owners of the group and restorers Aman Nath and Francis Wacziarg.
