Hari Parbat Fort, Srinagar, Jammu and KashmirThe Hari Prabat Fort stands tall on the hill of the same name which overlooks Srinagar, the largest city and summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. In 1590, the initial fortifications of the fort and an outer wall were constructed by the Mughal Emperor Akbar but this project was never completed.

Finally in 1808, the Hari Parbat Fort was built under the reign of Shuja Shah Durrani. Currently, the fort is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India. It sits at the top giving a spectacular view of Dal Lake.

The Srinagar railway station is the nearest at a distance of 17 km from the fort and the Srinagar International Airport is the closet at about 16.7 km away from the fort.
