Harangi Dam, KarnatakaThe Harangi Dam is a large and impressive dam on the Kaveri River in tranquil and unruffled surroundings. The dam is an ideal picnic spot and there are some short walks along with selected paths. It is a beautiful reservoir nestled in north Kodagu, in Kodagu District of Karnataka. Harangi Dam lies about 36 km from Madikeri with a length of 846 meter and a height of 47 meter. The dam is operated by Karnataka irrigation department.

Harangi Dam serves as the main picnic spot in Dubare and the forest of Dubare surrounds the dam. The offshoot of river Kaveri is close to the dam, which lies near Kushalnagar. The site of the dam is best known for its quiet environment, beauty of calm and gentle breeze.

Visiting Information to Harangi Dam
One can access the beauty of the dam, when the reservoir is fully filled with water during the monsoon period, primarily in the months of August and September. The site of the dam can easily be reached by roads via Kushalnagar or Madikeri. Nearest airport and railway station is in Mysore.
