Gyanendra Pandey, Uttar Pradesh Cricket PlayerGyanendra Pandey is a former Indian cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. Gyanendra Kedarnath Pandey is the full name of this Left-handed batsman of Uttar Pradesh Cricket team. He was born on August 12, 1972 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. He could play only in two international matches but the ODIs he played were against the Pakistan team in 1999 at Jaipur and Mohali. Pandey failed to get a regular place in the national team as he scored only 4 runs in those matches.

Cricket Career of Gyanendra Pandey
Gyanendra Pandey made his debut in the `Pepsi Cup` in 1998-99, but he had a much longer association with the game, having played from 1989. He had been playing steadily for Uttar Pradesh`s Ranji Trophy team, but only began to make his mark around 1996-97 where two consecutive seasons having scored more than 400 runs brought him into national reckoning.

In the domestic cricket, though, he proved to be a stodgy and cannily useful customer. He started off as a left-arm spinner and a lower-order batsman, but improved his batting over the years. A season later, 5348 runs and 165 wickets in 117 first-class games to his name, he announced retirement from first-class cricket. Gyanendra Pandey retired from first-class cricket in 2006.
