Gwaldam, UttarakhandGwaldam is a small town located on the borders of Kumaon Hills and Garhwal Hills in the state of Uttarakhand. It is located amidst apple orchards and green woods and perched at an altitude of 1629 meters. It is situated at a distance of 40 km from Kausani and offers beautiful and fascinating view of Himalayan peaks like; Nanda Devi (7817 mt), Trishul Mountain (7120 mt) and Nanda Ghuti (6309 mt). Gwaldam is situated 22 km beyond Baijnath. The highway that goes straight to Bageshwar District then branches off to a fantastic and fascinating route through the middle of pine forests against the background of Himalayan Mountains. From Gwaldam, the road actually traces its way through the thick forests and terraced fields that are dotted with resorts and cottages of Tharali and Narain Bagar up to the Ranikhet-Pandukholi road at a place called Simli, which is 8 km short of Karnaprayag. This place offers beautiful options to tourists and can be visited any time of the year.

Gwaldam happens to be the starting point of some of the exciting and interesting trekking routes in the Himalayas and is also the base for Roop Kund. The place is filled with apple orchards and tourists can make their way to the interiors of the forests. The snow capped mountain offers a beautiful scene and makes the place an exquisite locale. The valley which stretches for miles has the river Pindari flowing through it. This small hamlet with its far spreading field is one of nature`s paradises.

The nearest airport is Pant Nagar, at a distance of 250 km`s, and nearest rail head is Kathgodam, at a distance of 160 km`s. Gwaldam is properly connected by roads from all sides. It is 22 km from Baijnath, 36 km from Kausani, 45 km from Bageshwar and only 149 Km`s from Nainital.
