Gurdev Singh Kullar is a Sikh Indian hockey player who represented India in her sixth consecutive Gold at the Melbourne Olympics of 1956. A skilled inside-right hockey player, Singh emerged from humble origins at Sansarpur, a village in Punjab, to represent India in almost all levels of the game. He currently resides in Leeds, England with his family.

Early Life of Gurdev Singh
Gurdev Singh was born on August 12th 1933, in Sansarpur and studied at the Cantonment High school. He early made a mark in hockey while playing as a student in Jalandhar district.

Career of Gurdev Singh
Gurdev Singh represented the Punjab Police club during his stint in domestic hockey, and later represented Punjab. During his Punjab Police stint, he scored the winning goal that made it victorious at the 1966 Beighton Cup, and also captained the Punjab side that won the national championship in 1962 in Bhopal. He first represented India in the Youth Festival held at Poland in 1956, and was a member of the 1956 Olympic team, which scored its sixth consecutive Gold at Melbourne. He also played during the 1958 Asian Games, where India scored Silver.

He immigrated to England in 1967 and played for the Airedale Hockey club until his retirement. He is currently residing in Leeds, England and is respected as one of the members of the Indian National Hockey team during its most glorious period in the international circuit.
