It would be quite interesting to find out the birds camouflaging upon the tall trees. The birds of Gudavi Bird Sanctuary can also be seen hopping around the banks of the Gudavi Lake. Waterfowl, jungle fowl, black-headed crane and pond heron are the primary birds. These colorful creatures help in accentuating the beauty of the lake. In the month of June the birds flock to this sanctuary. However the peak month is that of August. However if the travelers are interested in enjoying the beauty of nature then the park is open throughout the year for visitors.

Gudavi Bird Sanctuary in Karnataka is accessible by road from places such as Sagar, Soraba, Shimoga and Bangalore. The nearest railway stations are Shimoga and Mangalore.
