Govindaraopet is an Indian village located in Warangal district in the state of Telangana. The village is well known for growing mangoes. It is a small commercial village since it is located near a national highway. Etymology of Govindaraopet
The village got its name from the name of the Hindu God, Govindarajulupet. The story narrates that the founders of the village found Govindarajulu Swamy Idol before formation of the village. Hence, they named village name as Govindrajulupet, now it is Govindaraopet. At the same place where the idol was found, villagers constructed a temple by the name Govindaraja Swamy Temple.
