Governor of West Bengal is a nominal head of the State Government and representative of the President of India in the state of West Bengal. The Governor is appointed by the Indian President for a term of 5 years. Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari was the first Governor of West Bengal and Keshari Nath Tripathi is the incumbent from 2014.

Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari
Chakravarthi Rajagopalachari was the first Governor of West Bengal from 4th April 1905 to 21st June 1948. He was the last Governor-General of India, as India soon became a Republic in 1950.
Kailash Nath Katju
Kailash Nath Katju was the second Governor of West Bengal from 21st June 1948 to 11th January 1951. He was also one of India`s most prominent lawyers and a freedom fighter.
Harendra Coomar Mookerjee
Harendra Coomar Mookerjee was the third Governor of West Bengal from 11th January 1951to 8th August 1956. He was also the member of Indian National Congress and participated in national movements representing Bengali Christian community.

Phani Bhusan Chakraborty was the fourth acting Governor of West Bengal from 8th August 1956 to 11th March 1956.
Padmaja Naidu
Padmaja Naidu was the fifth Governor of West Bengal from 11th March 1956 to 6th January 1967. She was the first female Governor of West Bengal and was also an Indian freedom fighter.

Dharma Vira was the sixth Governor of West Bengal from 6th January 1967 to 1st April 1969.
Deep Narayan Sinha
Deep Narayan Sinha was the seventh acting Governor of West Bengal from 1st April 1969 to 19th September 1969. He was the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
Shanti Swaroop Dhavan
Shanti Swaroop Dhavan was the eighth Governor of West Bengal from 19th September 1969 to 21st August 1971. He served as a lecturer in law at the Allahabad University and was a senior advocate at the Supreme Court of India.
Anthony Lancelot Dias
Anthony Lancelot Dias was the ninth Governor of West Bengal from 21st August 1971 to 6th November 1979. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1970 for his management of a drought in Bihar.
Tribhuvana Narayana Singh
Tribhuvana Narayana Singh was the tenth Governor of West Bengal from 6th November 1979 to 12th September 1981. He also served as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and as Union Minister of Industry and Steel.
Bhairab Dutt Pande
Bhairab Dutt Pande was the eleventh Governor of West Bengal from 12th September 1981 to 10th October 1983. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1972 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2000 for his contributions to Indian society.

Anant Prasad Sharma was the twelfth Governor of West Bengal from 10th October 1983 to 16th August 1984.
Satish Chandra
Satish Chandra was the thirteenth acting Governor of West Bengal from 16th August 1984 to 1st October 1984.
Uma Shankar Dikshit
Uma Shankar Dikshit was the fourteenth Governor of West Bengal from 1st October 1984 to 12th August 1986. He was a freedom fighter and was awarded Padma Vibhushan in 1989.
Saiyid Nurul Hasan
Saiyid Nurul Hasan was the fifteenth Governor of West Bengal from 12th August 1986 to 20th March 1989 and was again elected as the same from 7th February 1990 to 12th July 1993.
T. V. Rajeswar
T. V. Rajeswar was the sixteenth Governor of West Bengal from 20th March 1989 to 7th February 1990. He was an Indian Police Service Officer and an Intelligence Bureau chief.
B. Satyanarayan Reddy
