Governors of ChhattisgarhGovernor of Chhattisgarh is a nominal head and representative of the President of India in the state of Chhattisgarh. The Governor is appointed by the Indian President for a maximum period of 5 years. The current Governor of Chhattisgarh, since 15th August 2018 is Anandiben Patel, following the demise of Balram Das Tandon.

The Governors of Chhattisgarh since the formation of the state is as follows: Dinesh Nandan Sahay
Dinesh Nandan Sahay was the first Governor of Chhattisgarh from 1st November 2000 to 1st June 2003. He was a police officer turned politician and served as DGP of Bihar.

K.M. Seth
K.M. Seth was the Governor of Chhattisgarh from 2nd June 2003 to 25th January 2007. He is a highly decorated officer of the Indian Army who led counter-insurgency operations in Nagaland.

E.S.L. Narasimhan
E.S.L. Narasimhan was the Governor of Chhattisgarh from 25th January 2007 to 23rd January 2010. He is a retired Indian Police Service Officer who previously served as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau.

Shekhar Dutt
Shekhar Dutt was the Governor of Chhattisgarh from 23rd January 2010 to 19th June 2014. He was awarded the Sena Medal for gallantry during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

Ram Naresh Yadav
Ram Naresh Yadav was the Governor of Chhattisgarh from 19th June 2014 to 14th July 2014. He was also the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in 1977.

Balram Das Tandon
Balram Das Tandon was the Governor of Chhattisgarh from 18th July 2014 to 14th August 2018. He was imprisoned in 1975 during the Emergency.

Anandiben Patel
Anandiben Patel is the incumbent Governor of Chhattisgarh since 15th August 2018, after the demise of the previous Governor of Chhattisgarh, Balram Das Tandon. She was the first woman Chief Minister of Gujarat.
