The Government Museum at Madurai in the state of Tamil Nadu was established in the year 1980 as a multipurpose museum.
The objects that have been displayed in the museum are the objects of archaeology, anthropology, numismatics, zoology, botany, geology and objects of children`s interest.
Interested people who are likely to visit the museum may come between 9:30am to 5pm except on Fridays, second Saturdays and on National Holidays.
