Government Arts and Science College for Women, Barugur, Krishnagiri, Tamil NaduGovernment Arts and Science College for Women, Barugur began its journey on 13th September 1993. Affiliated to Periyar University, the college campus stretches up to an area of 9.6 acres. It lies in a rural area. Government Arts and Science College for Women, Barugur offers courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include-- B.Com in Company Secretaryship (CS), B.Com in ( Corporate Secretaryship ), B.Sc in Computer Science, Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A), B.Sc in Nutrition and Dietetics, B.Sc in Electronics Science. Post Graduate courses include-- M.Sc in Computer Science, M.Com.

Government Arts and Science College for Women, Barugur has a well-equipped library with a collection of 10,994 books, 12781 volumes, 977 text books. For reference one also can consult an additional 795 books. Besides there are twenty nine CDS /DVDs and 13 audios. The college comprises departments like-- English, Commerce, Computer Science, Nutrition, Electronics Science. It is well served by a team of experienced and qualified faculty members.

Apart from maintaining good academic record, students of Government Arts and Science College for Women, Barugur also are motivated to improve their personality as a whole. 3 NSS units are present in the college, offering an excellent scope for the students to develop their personality through several social awareness programmes. The Red Ribbon Club organises programmes that create awareness and knowledge in quite a lot of social issues as well. NAAC Accreditation with C++ has been conferred on the college.
