Singh is also known for effective tackling ability. Over the course of his professional career, Defender Singh has bagged nearly every club trophy in India.

Early Life of Gouramangi Singh
He was born on 25 January 1986. His birth place is Imphal West, Manipur, India.

National Career of Gouramangi Singh
He received his football training form Tata Football Academy. He kick-started his professional football career with Dempo SC in the 2004-2005 season making 40 appearances and scoring one goal.

In the year 2010, Melbourne Heart summoned Singh for a trial, which despite reportedly impressing Heart staff, was unsuccessful. A mutual decision led to the conclusion that Singh would not get first opportunities in presence of other stars. He started the 2010-11 I-League seasons with Churchill Brothers SC on 29 January 2011.

Then in the year 2013, despite earlier rejecting ISL signed players, Rangdajied United F.C. of the I-League agreed to sign Singh on along with some other players. He debuted in the I-League on 22 November 2013 against Shillong Lajong F.C. at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong. The tournament saw him play the whole match as Rangdajied drew the match 1-1.

In 2014, Singh joined Chennaiyin FC in the inaugural season of Indian Super League, joining the likes of Marco Materazzi. In the same year, he also signed with newly formed Bharat FC for the 2014-2015 I-League.

International Career of Gouramangi Singh
He came into limelight when he captained the winning Indian team (Under 18) at the Ian Rush Trophy in 2003. He then went on to play in the Olympic qualifiers for the Indian U-23 team.

The year 2006, saw Singh debuting for India. He was a key member of the team that bagged the Nehru Cup International Football Tournament 2007 beating Syria. The victorious India team that won the AFC Challenge Cup in 2008 also witnessed Singh as a key member.

Singh scored a significant goal for India in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the United Arab Emirates. However, the goal did not help India to win the tournament. He scored his 6th goal for India in Final of 2012 Nehru Cup against Cameroon.

Achievements of Gouramangi Singh

•He has won National Football League (which was replaced by the I-League) and the Federation Cup with Mahindra United in 2005/2006 and the I-League in 2009.
•He was also voted best defender in the I-League for the 2008/09 season.
•While at Dempo, Singh won the Federation Cup and the National Football League.
•He was declared AIFF Player of the year 2010.
•Singh was also declared the I-League Best Defender of the 2008-09 seasons.
