Golden Temple of Sripuram had been inaugurated during August 2007 and is present in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Built by Sri Narayani Peedam which is based in Vellore and supervised by Narayani Amma, the temple covers an area measuring about 100 acres. This magnificent temple comprises a beautiful park which is present at the base of a series of green hills, at a region referred to as `Malaikodi`.

Golden Temple of Sripuram is covered in gold, adorned with intricate architectural work, engraved by craftsmen who are dexterous in creating temple art, utilizing gold. Each and every detail of this temple was minutely designed, manually. Gold chunks were transformed into gold foils and then placed on copper plates. About 0 to 9 layers of gold foil have been embedded onto the copper plates. One would notice that the temple art has been inspired by ideas and concepts from the Vedas.

A unique star-shaped path known as `Sri Chakra` surrounds the Golden Temple at Sripuram, which exists at the centre of a lush green park that measure 1.8 km in length. Visitors must cross the star-shaped path in order to approach the temple in the middle of the landscape and they will discover messages by Sri Sakthi Amma and various other faiths and spiritual teachers. The interior walls of the Golden Temple are adorned with the principles propagated in Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagavad Gita, Bible, Holy Quran and Sri Sakthi Amma. The inner `Praharam` of this temple bears a resemblance to the Indian Parliament.

There are numerable statues which decorate the walls of Golden Temple, which have been crafted by efficient sculptors specialized in temple decoration. Gold sheets and gold plates have been employed in the construction of the exterior portions of this famous temple, and the aggregate quantity of gold used to erect the temple is about 1, 500 kilograms, estimated to be the greatest amount, in the entire world. Visiting Information
Golden Temple, Sripuram is located near Chennai or Bangalore International Airports. Devotees need to land either in Chennai or in Bangalore and drive for about 3 hours, if they aim to pay a visit to this temple. Trains are easily available from Chennai and Bangalore, and the Katpadi Station is located at a distance of nearly 5 km from Vellore.
