In 2006, the producers of the original film announced plans to release a sequel to the film, for which the title is yet to be announced.

Synopsis Of Ghayal
The story of the Indian movie `Ghayal` is regarded as one of the landmark work of the director Rajkumar Santoshi. Ajay Mehra played by Sunny Deol leaves to receive the training to become an international boxer. On his return to Bombay he finds that his brother Ashok Mehra played by Raj Babbar is missing. He decides to make complaints at the police station but this only leads to frustration and after some stages, violent outbursts. He decides to go and search for his brother himself but still does not find him.

The things start becoming worst. When Ashok`s body is found after some days and very unfortunately Ajay is accused for killing him. He is also accused of having an illegitimate relation with his sister-in-law Indu Mehra played by Mausumi Chatterjee. While he was in jail Ajay becomes attached to three young men who were willing to help him. Ghayal , Indian movieThey wanted to kill smuggler and gangster Balwant Rai who was a suspect to be involved in Ashok`s murder too. Later on all four young men decides to escape from jail, where Ajay`s three friends were all shot by police officers. He however falls in love with Varsha played by Meenakshi Sheshadri. She is a journalist who helped in showing Ajay the path to justice. The movie perfectly shows the then scenario of the society which still prevails in many villages and small towns.

The star cast of the Indian movie `Ghayal` includes some brilliant castes as Sunny Deol, Meenakshi Sheshadri, Mausumi Chatterjee, Raj Babbar and as an antagonist, Amrish Puri. The director of the movie is Rajkumar Santoshi who has also written the film. The producer of the Indian movie `Ghayal` is Dharmendra. The music is done by Bappi Lahiri while cinematography is done by Rajan Kothari.

Awards:
The Indian movie `Ghayal` has got many awards in 1991 film fare awards including best actor, best art director, best cinematographer, best director, best film, and also in the category of best story writer. The performance of Sunny Deol was really award winning and film fare committee did justice with the actor.
