Georgette Sarees, Indian SareesGeorgette Saree is one of the widely used sarees in India. Georgette is a semi-transparent and light fabric originally created using silk but nowadays is popularly made using synthetic yarns like rayon and polyester. These particular sarees have gained popularity for the light fabric. The georgette fabric has a crinkly texture, made with sheer thin threads and is very relaxing to wear due to the twisting of warp and weft while weaving the fabric. Georgette is very similar to crepe and is clingy and springy due to which it drapes really well and is in trend among women to use them in their fashion apparel. These sarees are available in vibrant colours and are sometimes embellished with beads and zari work.

History of Georgette Saree
In the 20th century, Madame Georgette de la Plante introduced the tenderness of a gorgeous fabric widely now known as "Georgette". The most of its usage has been dated back to 1915. She was a French dressmaker, who like every other French "fashion designer", was an innovative individual who was well known for her "net finish" of all her gowns and dresses.

Designs and Patterns of Georgette Sarees
The artisans have now concentrating on creating exclusive designs using georgette as the base. The stitches and the intricate workmanship used in pure georgette deserve admiration. The georgette sarees are sometimes decked with traditional motifs to create a fusion and are often used as bridal wears and wedding sarees. The artisans in India, who are involved in creating different designs and motifs in sarees, tend to increase the market value of the georgette sarees by incorporating different designs, sometimes creating mix and match work of patch work, sequins, bead work, embroidery work etc.

Present Trend of Georgette Sarees
The georgette sarees have become a style statement and are widely used for the gorgeousness. Though silk has occupied a distinct and important position in Indian saree tradition, georgette sarees have made a mark in the Indian saree segment in recent times. The present trend of draping saree involves the style with traditional approach that bedecks the woman with elegance. The sarees created in georgette fabric manifest the style and satisfy the demand of the recent trend.
