Gaurishankar Lake is one of the most picturesque lakes of Bhavnagar. This covers an area of 381 hectares which is also known as Bor Talav. Built in 1872 this was mainly built for providing drinking water for the local people of Bhavnagar.

Covering an area of 381 hectares it was constructed in 1872 which was mainly aimed at providing drinking water to the local people of Bhavnagar. Alongwith this the water reservoir also served as a prime tourist spot which often visited by thousands of tourists. Locally known as Bor Talav this lake was renamed as Gaurishankar Lake after the illustrious Dewan Shri Gaurishankar Oza.

Surrounded by a mini forest known as Victoria forest this lake provides one of the most attractive sight. This lake has a Bal Vatika along with some musical fountains, planetarium, boat house and many more attractions which entertain the tourists and the family who visit the place. Equally attractive is the mini forest which has a good collection of floras and faunas which has a collection of 1 lakh trees and a varied species of flora and fauna. The numerous varieties of floras is exhibited in two nurseries which also cultivate different types of plants as well.

Thus in the midst of exuberant green forest and water reservoir this is one of the most precious picnic spot of Bhavnagar in Gujarat.
