Gangamoola, also known as Varaha Parvata, is a famous hill resort of the state of Karnataka.

Gangamoola , Karnataka Gangamoola, or Varaha Parvatha, a mount with a height of 1458 m above sea level within the border of National Park close to Kudremukh, is acclaimed as the source of three rivers Tunga River, Bhadra River and Netravathi river originating from Western Ghats. Being an integral part of Samse Taluk of Chikmagalur district, the Gangamoola hill is surrounded by dense forest areas.

Gangamoola is an integral part of Gangamoola-Aroli-Gangrikal range of Western Ghats. On an average, it records a rainfall of approximately 575 cm. Rich deposits of magnetite-quartzite yielding iron ores are found in close proximity. Special attractions include the shrine of Bhagavathi and a Varaha image, 1.8 metres high, within a cave.

Kudremukh, Nandi Hills, Biligiriranga Hills, Kemmangundi, and Madikeri are the attractive locales near by. Another place of interest is Jamalabad Fort. Tipu Sultan, the famous Mysore king, constructed this majestic fort in 1794. The fort was named after his mother, Jamalbee. Previously, it was named `Narasimha Hangadi`.
